Super, thanks Redd.
It’s too bad they couldn’t incorporate the corner site. The project looks a little odd without the adjacent property to build on.
I think the same people own both properties. That is why Il Greco could move around the corner. And I said before, I think it is the original owners of the restaurant. But I don't know why I think that. Might be totally wrong.
It is odd that there is a big blank wall on part of the west side of the building. Would have thought there would be balconies there to take in that view you mentioned. And it is only part. Builders will put the blank wall when they think another building will be built up to it. But then there are some balconies further along the Gorge Rd side.
I just drove by this building and there is now a temporary sign up on the fencing that indicates it's called 'Il Greco Apartments' (original haha) and 'Now leasing! Studio, 1 and 2 bed apartments. Move in Summer 2026'. There was a phone number and a QR code, which unfortunately, I couldn't scan because I was driving.
Edited to add: Yes the original Il Greco owners own it. It was originally going to be condos, but I suspect due to the CMHC Apartment Construction Loan Program and/or the GST Apartment Incentive Program, they realized it would be financially better to switch to apartments.
Got some photos. They are planting bushes and trees today.
I thought it was interesting to note that there is a bike rental station close by.

I hate the porta-potty blue walls and strongly dislike the purple and green on the fourth floors. I didn't get a photo of it, but the back of the building has the same thing. Weird design choice.
I was told the faux-brick cladding you see on the Arnot side, are actually townhouses and behind the bus stop on Tillicum, it's a little hard to see, but there's a pass-through there and even a little pedestrian bridge/balcony? Not exactly sure what's going on there.
